Student and Early Career Professional Volunteer Positions

Student and Early Career Professional Volunteer Positions

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Western Section’s Annual Conference!

Volunteer opportunities include checking participants into the conference, working the audio/visual & lights in a session, helping out with an evening event or workshop, etc.  Volunteers must pay to register for the conference and they will be reimbursed after they work their scheduled hours at the conference.  (A check normally arrives within a few weeks after the conference ends.) The Western Section is reimbursing $120 for approximately 8 hours of volunteer work to students and young professionals.  In addition, the Western Section has arranged for a few shared hotel rooms for student and ECP volunteers that need housing.   (Professionals interested in volunteering?  We also need Volunteers to help set up the Poster Session and in a few other key areas.  If you are a Professional interested in volunteering at the meeting, please email candace.renger@gmail.com)

So, are you ready to have a blast and meet lots of great people?

The process is very simple.

  1.  Please register for the conference including any workshops/events you may also want to attend.   http://tws-west.org/pomona2016/
  2.  Complete the Volunteer Application Google Form.  The more information the better!  Volunteer Application Google Form

After we receive your preferences, we will work on a schedule that meets the needs of the conference.  Ideally, the schedule will be finalized for your review and confirmation by mid-January. If anything changes (especially your schedule), please do not hesitate to contact us ASAP.

NOTE: Unfortunately, we do not have an endless number of volunteer opportunities so it is important that you respond back in a timely manner as scheduling will be done in the order received.  And, as you would expect with a great conference, spots fill up fast!

Hope to hear from you soon. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful day,
